FOOTBALL crazy Asda colleagues have named their fleet of delivery vans after the England team who they hope will be bringing the Euro’s final trophy home this weekend.
The vans – include Kane, Henderson, Maguire, Pickford, Stones, Trippier, Sterling, Walker, Mount, Grealish, Foden, Rice, Saka, Shaw and leading from the front is Leeds born Kalvin Phillips.
They will be delivering groceries to customers across West Yorkshire over the weekend with the name of a player proudly displayed.
There’s a surprise in store for selected customers who have ordered home deliveries for Sunday, the Asda Home Shopping Team are randomly surprising a number of shoppers with three Lion bars (a pack of four – with an extra one as a substitute) in their baskets to enjoy whilst watching the game in homage to the three lions and to celebrate their success in making it to the final.
Adam Duffy, general store manager at Asda’s Leeds Home Shopping Centre, said: "Football fever has well and truly landed here in Leeds, and we know our customers and colleagues are really enjoying all the excitement - to celebrate further we’re going to be randomly surprising a few households by dropping off three Lions (bars) at their door in their home deliveries on Sunday as a bit of fun.
"We also wanted to show our appreciation to the team, and what better way than renaming our vans in their honour, most of our drivers have all been battling to get the Kalvin Phillips van here as he is a local lad – but we’re all behind the team “It Asda Be Coming Home”
