Bradford bus passengers will see an average four per cent price increase on fares - as some prices are frozen and some go up this weekend.
First, the leading bus operator in Bradford, has introduced a range of pricing changes, which will take effect from Sunday.
The company's adult peak single fare has remained at the same price as last year, while the peak day rover, priced £2.80, has not been increased since January 2006.
Ian Humphreys, managing director for First in Bradford, said: "It is a year since our last price change however we have to meet the ongoing challenge of rising costs to our business.
"Despite some of these price increases, the cost of travel on a First bus still represents great value-for-money, as the cost of daily travel when using a FirstMonth ticket is less than £2 a day."
A first spokesman said operators in the bus industry were experiencing above inflation cost increases and the latest Confederation of Passenger Transport cost index stated costs for Northern bus companies had risen by 5.9 per cent.
