SHOCKING footage has emerged of the horror crash which occurred in Pudsey last night a car careered into a barber shop at high speed.
The car, a black Audi A4, can be seen flying down Richardshaw Lane in Pudsey at high speed before smashing into Philip Nicholas Barber Shop.
The CCTV footage, from neighbouring Stanningley Off Licence, shows the horror crash which occurred in the early hours and shows the Audi being driven in speeds well in excess of the 20mph limit in place in Richardshaw Lane.
The incident occurred at about 3.30am, and shortly after the Audi crashes, with tyres smoking as the driver seemingly attempts to brake in vain, a police car can be seen arriving at the scene from the same direction.
Fire crews had to be called to make the building safe after the car smashed into it and police are on the scene this morning with a large cordon in place.
Firefighters said the driver was not in the car when they arrived at the scene.
Philip Nicholas, who owns the barbers, was "too upset" to speak about the incident to the Telegraph & Argus at the scene, but said on Facebook this morning the shop will be closed for the foreseeable future.
Buses are being diverted away from Stanningley Bottom today due to the incident.
