LATEST NEWS: 23-year-old charged with murder after teenager dies in quad-bike crash
POLICE have made two new arrests in a murder investigation related to the death of a teenager on a quad-bike.
Rahees Mahmood, who was aged 18, died after a crash involving a quad-bike and a car, believed to be a silver Ford Focus, on Broadstone Way, Holme Wood, last Thursday (June 3).
West Yorkshire Police was called to the scene at 4.09pm and found Mr Mahmood, who had been a passenger on the quad-bike with a serious head injury.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the quad-bike, a 19-year-old male, was taken to hospital following the collision and remains in a serious yet stable condition.
Police launched a murder investigation on Friday and have arrested six people in total so far.
Two new arrests took place yesterday.
Officers detained a 23-year-old man on suspicion of murder and a 21-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting offenders.
Both remain in custody at this time.
Two men, aged 19 and 30, who were arrested on Friday, have been released under investigation.
A 25-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, both who were arrested on Saturday, have also been released under investigation.
Mr Mahmood's family released the first official photo of their son today and they revealed their "total devastation" at their loss and the actions of some in the aftermath.
The family's home was "deliberately" damaged on Saturday morning.
Police are continuing to appeal for information about the crash.
