CLECKHEATON firefighters attended a crash involving a Jeep and a caravan which caused heavy traffic to build up on the M1 between Leeds and Wakefield.
Emergency services were at the scene after both vehicles overturned forcing a number of lanes to close on junctions 43 - 42 southbound.
It is understood the fire crew extricated a person who was trapped before handing them over to paramedics.
A Yorkshire air ambulance circled overhead but was not required.
The road traffic collision occurred earlier today at 3.36pm.
Appliances from Hunslet x2, and the Technical Rescue Vehicle from Cleckheaton also attended.
