A double from Chima Monando moved Campion to within three points of the top spot in the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division.

The Manningham Mills outfit closed the gap on the top three thanks to a 2-1 win at Halifax Irish.

Monando put them ahead with an early strike and, though Mathew Banks equal-ised for the home side on the stroke of half-time, he added to his tally midway through the second half to seal the points.

Leaders Bay Athletic go into the new year in pole position even though their game at Golcar United was postponed.

Tyersal were once again their own worst enemies when for the second weekend running they had to play much of the game without a full complement after having a player dismissed.
