A FORMER Great British Bake Off contestant says she cannot wait to work at a prestigious food festival.

Sandy Docherty, who took part in the 2015 series and is the child protection and welfare officer at Titus Salt School in Baildon, will be holding a series of shows at the Great British Food Festival.

The event will be held at Harewood House over the May Bank Holiday weekend and will see Sandy hold four shows a day from Saturday, May 29 to Monday, May 31 on the bake stage.

Sandy will demonstrate sweet and savoury dishes for a movie night at home, including sweet nachos and popcorn.

Sandy said: “It’s really good fun and a good laugh.

“I love working at school, but it’s good to do this as it’s something I love.”

The line-up includes over 100 top local and national producers, tasty street food, chef demos, barbecue stage, great live music, and a new ‘Grown your own’ Stage.

There is entertainment for all the family throughout the bank holiday weekend, including free circus skills, a ‘wacky races’ area, children’s rides and a mini zoo. There will also be fantastic live music throughout the day with a play list packed full of top bands, so you can do some shopping, grab some food and then have a well-earned relax with a local beer (or two) listening to some great live entertainment.
