THREE people have been arrested after a teenager was injured in an early-hours shooting.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and are urging anyone with information to get in touch.
A spokesperson said a 17-year-old male was injured when a firearm was discharged in the Mayo Avenue/Rooley Avenue area of Bradford at around 2am yesterday (Sunday).
A probe into the incident has been launched.Police said there was a party at a property in the area and officers are also investigating an earlier altercation at the same house – thought to have been at around 11pm on Saturday night.
Road closures and extensive police cordons were in place yesterday as enquiries got underway. The boy's injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Three males aged 39, 24 and 17 have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. They remain in police custody
Detective Chief Inspector Sharron Kaye (Protective Services Crime) said: “I would urge anyone with information about this incident to contact police.
“We have a number of officers in the area providing a reassuring presence and carrying out investigations."
Councillor Ralph Berry (Lab, Wibsey), whose ward covers the area where the incident happened, said: “It’s very shocking, something we are very concerned about.
“We are hoping the police will deal with this incident effectively.
“It’s caused quite a bit of anxiety and upset - it’s not something you want to see in your ward.”
He said councillors were working with police to make sure people in the area are re-assured.
