Firefighters were called to a Bradford street twice overnight after two cars owned by the same person were set alight.
The blazes took place in Park Crescent in the Undercliffe area of Bradford on Thursday night-Friday morning.
At around midnight, a silver Volkswagen Bora was found to be on fire and extensively damaged. Then, at around 3am, a silver Toyota Avensis was also set on fire. Firefighters said they were treating both fires as cases of deliberate ignition and police had been informed.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "We can confirm that we were called to Park Crescent at 11.53pm to an incident of criminal damage involving a VW Bora saloon which had been set alight.
"Later at around 3am we received a further call to attend the same street after a silver four-door Toyota was also set light. Both incidents are being treated as suspicious as an accelerant of unknown type was used in each incident.
"Both vehicles were registered to the same address."
