LATEST NEWS: Man charged with dangerous driving, drug supply and criminal property after crashing into wall
A COUPLE of people were sent to hospital as a car was badly damaged after a crash on a commuter road.
The road traffic collision occurred on Apperley Lane near Rawdon on Tuesday night (May 11).
An emergency call was made at 8.45pm and Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAA) dispatched two ambulances and a specialist paramedic to the scene.
Police closed Apperley Lane (A658) between its junction with Micklefield Lane (B6152), at the traffic lights near Rawdon, and Walk Hill Farm, with a cordon in place.
A man, who was on a bus heading towards Apperley Bridge, said passengers had to get off the vehicle and walk to their destinations, after coming to a halt at the site of the collision.
A wall was also broken in two places.
