Members of Bradford Skin Cancer Service User Group presented a cheque for £2,345 to Dr Andrew Wright, consultant dermatologist at St Luke's Hospital, Bradford.
The cash was raised at a fundraising event at The Weavers Arms in Halifax.
The event included an auction of rugby memorabilia, a live band and a hot buffet.
The event raised £1,845 which was boosted by a donation of £500 from Halifax Plc, as part of its initiative to support local charities.
The Skin Cancer User Group is planning to use some of the money on an education campaign in 2008.
