There will be a vote in the Yunis household within the next few days.

All the members of the family will have their say about naming the newest member.

Little baby Yunis - a girl - was born on Christmas Day at Bradford Royal Infirmary to her 26-year-old mum, Asmat.

Like her sister Maymunah, her name will be chosen by vote when Asmat Khaum gets home to Grantham Terrace, Bradford to see her daughter and husband, Kamran Yunis, a community development worker in Mannigham, Bradford.

"That's the way we did it for her sister who was born in May," said Asmat, who gave birth to her 6lb 2oz treasure at 3.50am.

"I was given three days when she might be born, including December 25. We all joked that she might be born on Christmas Day. She is a wonderful Christmas present," said Asmat.

And baby Yunis's arrival has marked another reason that Christmas Day is special for the family.

Asmat's mum and dad, who live in London, were married on December 25 and although the family are Muslim, they often celebrated the day with a traditional turkey dinner.

Arriving early at Airedale general hospital was baby Leyla-Mai Palmer, a second daughter to Dionne Muscroft.

She came into the world at 1.40am on Christmas morning, a daughter to 22-year-old labourer Danny Palmer.

But there was no lazy Christmas Day for 25-year-old Dionne, who also has a six-year-old daughter, Jordan Gibson, at home in Guardhouse Grove, Keighley.

"My mum is there with my partner. They will be picking me up later and I'll be doing the Christmas dinner," said Dionne.

"I should be alright until the tiredness kicks in then I'll need a rest."

Leyla-Mai arrived two weeks early weighing 6lb 10oz.

"It has come as a shock to have her on Christmas Day but it is a lovely Christmas present," she added.
