A huge moorland fire has broken out today in West Yorkshire - with firefighters tackling a 'one mile flame front.'
Residents are being warned to keep their doors and windows shut due to the blaze on Marsden Moor, Kirklees.
Ten fire engines have been scrambled to the scene, near Black Moss Reservoir and Mount Road, and road closures are currently in place.
The flames can be seen from many miles away, and West Yorkshire crews are receiving assistance from colleagues from Greater Manchester.
The blaze has also affected neighbouring land in Saddleworth.
One person took to Twitter to say they could see the flames from Stockport.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Ten pumps plus specialist wildfire units are tackling a fire with a one mile flame front on Marsden Moor. "Local residents should keep their doors/windows closed.
Please stay away from the area until incident is closed. Road closures are in place."
Marsden Moor has been the scene of numerous serious fires in recent years, with nearby residents increasingly concerned about the number of fires.
The National Trust said it was the second blaze to hit Marsden Moor this season alone.
The moor falls within the south Pennines and are partly located within the Peak District National Park.
