POLICE seized a car because it had no insurance after its owner said they unknowingly bought a policy which was false.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit (RPU) stopped a red Vauxhall in the Wyke area of Bradford today.
The vehicle was showing as having no insurance.
Police said the owner of the car told them they had purchased a monthly insurance policy from a "lad" in Huddersfield with cash.
It turned out the certificate the owner received was in fact doctored.
Officers seized the car and reported the driver.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Sometimes deals are too good to be true, just like paying a lad in Huddersfield cash for your monthly insurance policy only to receive a doctored certificate in return.
"Vehicle seized and driver reported."
