A winter Sunday bus link from Otley and Ilkley to the Yorkshire Dales will end next weekend due to the knock-on effects of new EU legislation.
The Dalesbus weekly 805 service to Wharfedale and Wensleydale run by Arriva Yorkshire and organised by the Yorkshire Dales Transport Users Group (YDTUG) will finish on Sunday.
Buses operating routes of more than 30 miles now have to be fitted with tachographs, and their drivers will have to follow a new set of driving hours rules.
Arriva Yorkshire says it is not practical to fit the new equipment to their buses when all of their routes, except the DalesBus one, are less than 30 miles long.
And YDTUG says it doesn't have the funds to pay another operator to keep the service running each week.
A spokesman said: "We're really upset that we can't keep this service going every week, as lots of people are using it.
"We hope that people will get in touch with their MPs to let them know the damage that these new EU rules are doing to rural bus services."
The group will be organising a trial replacement service, however, using coaches once a month from January to March, to ensure people can still visit the Dales occasionally.
