A new Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector has been appointed at Eccleshill Police Station.
Inspector Peter Tuff will have direct responsibility for Eccleshill, Ravenscliffe, Thorpe Edge, Thackley, Idle, Swain House, Bolton, Undercliffe, Fagley, Bradford Moor, Thornbury, Wrose and Apperley Bridge.
His role will involve increasing public confidence and customer satisfaction with the police.
Insp Tuff began his career with the police 21years ago as a police constable in the Bradford North Division at Eccleshill which included two years as the local beat officer for the Thorpe Edge estate.
In 1994 he was promoted to Sergeant, working from Lawcroft House in Bradford before being transferred to Leeds in 1997.
In 2002 he was promoted to Inspector, based at Keighley.
Insp Tuff, who started his new role this week, said: "Through effective partnership working, I want to reduce not only crime and anti-social behaviour but also the fear of these issues."
Insp Tuff, 46, is married and lives in the North Leeds area with his wife and two children.
He is a keen sportsman and worked as a PE teacher before joining the police.
