A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital following an incident on a residential street late last night.
Detectives are now urging any witnesses to get in touch after officers were called to Fairway, Wibsey, at around 11.10pm to reports of a man being injured.
Police remain at the scene today, where a large cordon is blocking off the road and forensic enquiries are underway.
"There are reports of a gathering at a house on the Fairway and then an argument outside the address and then a man was hit by a car, which then fled the scene," said a police spokesperson.
"Emergency services and ambulance attended the scene and found a man in his 20s with serious injuries.
"He was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and he remains there in a critical condition.
"Three women aged 42, 44 and 44 all from Bradford have been arrested in connection with this incident and remain in police custody at this time.
"A scene is still in place whilst officers continue with their enquiries.
"Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the vehicle involved or has any further information to come forward and speak to the police to assist with the ongoing investigation."
Councillor Joanne Dodds (Labour, Great Horton), whose ward covers the road, spoke of her shock at the news.
She said: “It’s such a quiet area up there. It’s horrendous - I feel for the victim and hope he’s going to be ok.
“For the neighbours and people that live around there, I also feel for them.
“When you witness anything like that, it can be quite shocking and upsetting and people can take some time to get over that as well.
“If they’ve seen anything or can help in anyway, come forward.”
She described the situation as “awful”.
Councillor Angela Tait (Labour, Royds), whose ward neighbours that where the incident took place, added: “I hope the medical intervention leads to a good recovery for the victim.
“My thoughts go out to the victim and family. The police have made arrests. I hope they bring their investigation to a speedy conclusion and bring justice for this victim.”
