A PRIVATE hire firm is doing its bit to kickstart the Shipley economy by offering free lifts home to residents who have used the town’s supermarkets.
Access Private Hire, based in Otley Road, Shipley, is offering the service to residents who need to be picked up and taken home from three supermarkets.
People can call up the firm and receive lifts back home only from Asda and Aldi in Shipley and Aldi in Bolton Woods.
The service, which will start on Monday, April 12, will run each Monday to Thursday between 10am and 2pm.
Hassan Shah, Access Private Hire owner, says its drivers will still be paid for each trips as the company has stumped up more than £10,000 to pay for the service.
He said: “We were thinking of what we could do to give back to the community.
“We thought we need to think outside the box on what we did.
“Hopefully it will help get more shoppers out and about in Shipley.
“We want to do our bit and help get the economy kickstarted and to help those people already suffering financially.
“We are investing over £10,000 to give shoppers a free ride home from Asda & Aldi stores in Shipley.”
Anyone who would like to use the service from Monday, is urged to call Access Private Hire on 01274 809444.
