POLICE are investigating after a car crashed into a takeaway and was abandoned in the early hours of this morning.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) was called to a collision on West Lane in Keighley, at its junction with North Dean Road, at around 4.30am today.
A crew from Keighley Fire Station rushed to the scene and discovered a car - a Ford Fiesta - had collided into the front of a takeaway on the corner of the road.
A spokesperson for Keighley said: "Nobody was on the scene, on arrival."
The window and wall of the premises, as well as the vehicle, were damaged, but firefighters made the scene safe and then requested police.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said officers were called to West Lane at 4.33pm and confirmed the driver of the vehicle had made off from the scene.
The spokesperson for Keighley Fire Station said police are investigating the crash.
