POLICE in Keighley have recovered weapons, "over 1,000" laughing gas canisters, counterfeit cigarettes and £5,000 in cash after an operation in the town today.
Officers working in partnership with West Yorkshire Trading Standards visited "various shops" in Keighley town centre and the Knowle Park area, recovering "quite a haul".
Sergeant Dave Purcell, of Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team, tweeted that officers had recovered what appears to be a knuckle duster and a set of crossbow bolts, as well as the laughing gas canisters, which he said would "no doubt have ended up littering the streets of Keighley".
Officers also recovered "over 6,000 counterfeit cigarettes, electrical goods without the required safety certifications, £5,000 cash and a few other items that we really don't want to fall into the wrong hands".
Sergeant Purcell added: "We will continue to clean up the town for the decent hard-working people of Keighley! Please keep the information coming in."
