Vehicles are preparing to take to the road for the Bronte Tractor Run Group's latest jaunt.

Around 100 vehicles are expected to take part in the festive run, on Sunday, December 30.

Proceeds will go to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The run will start at Colin Appleyard Cars in Ingrow, Keighley, at 9.30am and will cover a 24-mile route taking in Denholme, Cullingworth and Haworth, finishing at the Bronte Hotel.

The run began seven years ago after Stanley Turner visited sheep dog trials with his friend, who collapsed and was taken to hospital by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. He later died and Mr Turner has organised the run ever since in his memory.

Mr Turner said: "The Yorkshire Air Ambulance arrived first that day and I was talking to one of the guys and he told me how they get no money from the Government - it all comes from donations.

"So me and my friends got together and it has been going ever since."

Colin Appelyard is sponsoring the run, a raffle will be held and people are being asked to donate money as the vehicles go by.

Anyone wanting to get involved in the run should phone Mr Turner on (01535) 606691 or Ian Chapman on (01535) 679321.
