T&A readers have had their say about protestors who flooded into Bradford city centre to demonstrate against lockdown restrictions.

And they weren't impressed by the protestors' lack of social distancing and mask wearing.

Maxwell Moore said: "Shame on such ignorant selfish people. With no social distancing and no masks they are asking for an other full lock down.

"Put mask on, social distance, get a vaccine then we can all have some 'freedom' from Covid-19."

IC Rhodes added: "They're going for a Guinness world record: how many morons can you fit in Centenary Square/"

User Its your fault your poor (sic) commented: "It's not funny, it's because of nutters like these the virus is likely to be about for longer and (will) kill more people."

Others who saw the demonstration said a minority were not respecting social distancing.

Fire Fox commented: "There were some selfish types around Bradford city centre.

"Quite a few brought their dogs, including on a long lead and letting bystanders get frightened. Not making any effort to respect the personal space of bystanders, for example as they passed bus stops. And trying to wind-up the police with shouting and gestures."

Bone_idle18 added: "Love their logic, (they) think it's a UK government conspiracy, (but) fail to notice the whole world is similarly affected."

"Suspect a high number of these protesters are well below average IQ!"

But not everyone was critical of the protestors.

Lod_of_the_null_lines said: "You don't even need to go down the conspiracy route to know in your heart that something is not right. The western world will inevitably follow suit because they follow the main drivers for anything, money and power. Not once in over a year of this have I heard any government representative mention what we can do to improve our health, to improve and boost our immune system. Meanwhile cancer patients are slipping through the net, there is a tidal wave of joblessness and homelessness on the horizon, Parliamentary process has been bypassed on a criminal scale, human rights violations, medical abuse, the list goes on. These are the things springing directly from governments response to COVID and should be called out and protested against."

But Gedawaxine had no sympathy: "Threaten to vaccinate them, they'll soon get off back to the holes they crawled from. Make you sick the lot of them: moan, moan, moan."

Grey Tracksuit Chav and a Man Bag arote: "I can only assume, as per other contributors, that the sort of halfwits attending this illegal gathering are lacking in intelligence rather than being difficult just for the sake of it.

"Whilst I encourage lawful protest, this is neither lawful nor does the subject of their protest have any credibility to it whatsoever. Their claims are baseless and not backed by any evidence I have seen.

"Ordinarily I would feel sorry for the deluded but, in this case, they are endangering myself and my family and, thus, I consider them the enemy.

"If they are incapable of understanding logic and common sense, perhaps they may better understand a powerful water canon and the sharp incisors of a German shepherd?"

Rio8uk wrote: "Total disregard of the current situation. I am highly vulnerable and have been in lockdown since last March and I am totally disgusted to see this lot spoil it for people like me who were hoping for a bit of freedom soon. They are all putting their own lives as well as others at risk.

"This lot would be the first to cry if they had Covid. I cannot put into words how angry this makes me feel."
