AN assault which left a 14 year old boy hospitalised is being treated as "racially aggravated" by police.
West Yorkshire Police was called out to Bierley Lane at around 5pm on Saturday, March 20 to reports of an assault on a teenager.
The victim was approached by a group of youths, believed to be aged between 13-16 years old, and he was verbally abused and assaulted.
The victim was taken to hospital to be assessed and he suffered injuries to his hands, arms and body.
He has since been discharged from hospital.
Enquiries are ongoing by Bradford District Police to identify the perpetrators, including examination of CCTV in the area.
"The incident is being treated as a racially aggravated assault," a spokesperson said.
The victim and his family are in contact with the police and being offered support.
Police are also aware of a video circulating on social media which is being examined by officers.
