A RETROSPECTIVE application to install two cafes made out of shipping containers in a car park have been refused.
Last year Bradford Council issued an enforcement notice after two containers were installed at the rear of the car park at Clarges Street, Little Horton, without planning permission.
The two containers had been converted into cafes, and the notice demanded the structures be removed.
A retrospective planning application that would allow the businesses to remain on the site was submitted by Abid Hussain in late December, and now that application has been refused by Bradford Council.

Planning officers said: "The containers are considered to be a poor form of development which fail to preserve the amenity of the locality.
"They are strident by their siting and incongruous by their design and materials which is at odds with the character and appearance of the wider locality."
Officers also raised concerns that the units, just yards from houses, were open until midnight.
They added: "The development is seemingly reliant on customers visiting by car and given the lack of facilities for consumption of the goods has a strong potential for customers to congregate at the site either externally or in their vehicles. The development is therefore likely to result in noise and general disturbance harmful to the amenity of the nearby occupants, particularly late at night."
