BRADFORD rap group Bad Boy Chiller Crew’s homecoming gig later this year at St George’s Hall has officially sold out.
The rappers announced the date as part of their UK tour later this year which has seen huge demand for tickets given the boys’ surging popularity in recent months.
The 1,500 capacity venue will be rocking to BBCC tunes such as 450, Don’t You Worry About Me, and German Engineering on Tuesday, October 12, when Gareth Kelly, Kane and Clive take to the stage in front of their adoring fans.
It is the fifth sell-out show on the group’s upcoming 12-date tour, having already sold out their gigs in Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Bad Boy Chiller Crew have enjoyed a meteoric rise in the past 18 months after transforming from social media pranksters to bonafide recording artists who have received plays on BBC Radio 1, signing a record deal, starring in a documentary and the release of their debut album Full Wack, No Brakes.
While their catchy bassline tunes have gained them thousands of fans, their controversial lyrics on drugs, crime and speeding have drawn criticism in some areas for glamourising this type of lifestyle.
They have gained numerous high-profile fans, including sports stars and social media influencers, and have also formed a close bond to Bradford City.
St George’s Hall, the Grade II-listed concert venue in the heart of the city centre, is one of Bradford’s most iconic and prestigious venues.
It has hosted famous speakers such as Charles Dickens and Sir Winston Churchill in the past, and also some of the world’s biggest pop and rockstars including David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi and Metallica.
It underwent a £9 million refurbishment plan between 2016 and 2019 funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Bradford Council, which has restored the almost 170-year-old building to its former glory.
While the performance at St George’s Hall is sold out, fans can choose to joining a waiting list, and tickets for other shows around the country are still available.
