AN industrial site containing one of Keighley’s biggest employers has been sold for £4.1 million.
Eddisons acquired industrial accommodation Foundry Park on behalf of Malco Holdings.
The new 40,000 sq ft business unit, on a former Keighley College site acquired from Bradford Council and Homes England, was developed by Dalton Lane Properties and completed in August after delays in construction caused by the first lockdown.
Foundry Park, constructed by Stainforth Construction on a two-acre site, is occupied on a 15-year lease by manufacturer Platinum Stairlifts, at a £253,500 annual rent.
Keighley town centre site to be redeveloped with 34 new employment units
With a local workforce of over 200 people, Platinum Stairlifts is one of Keighley’s largest employers. The growing business has consolidated what was previously a multi-site operation onto the single site at Foundry Park.
Eddisons partner Steve Hawkins said: “Dalton Lane Properties have speculatively developed an excellent site at Foundry Lane, based on the strength of the Keighley industrial market.
“Platinum Stairlifts’ relocation to the 40,000 sq ft unit has retained over 200 jobs in Keighley and because of Dalton Lane’s high level of investment in the building, they were prepared to commit to a long-term lease. Malco Holdings have secured a great investment opportunity with guaranteed growth.”
