A SUPERMARKET in Bingley is to reopen shortly after a week-long closure.
The town's Aldi will have a new look with a more customer-focused layout as part of the firm's £500m investment through its Project Fresh renovations.
Customers will see more space dedicated to fresh British meat and fish, as well as popular Lacura health and beauty products, award winning beers, wines and spirits, Mamia babycare products, and a new and improved Food to Go section, offering a choice of fresh salads, sandwiches and sushi.
The format has been created to make shopping easier for Bingley customers and the store will now have more space and clearer signs. Fresh bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle, preventing them getting squashed under customers’ shopping, and the store will have easy to browse freezers.
The Aldi on Dubb Lane, which employs more than 30 people, closed last week in order for the renovations to take place, and is set to reopen on Thursday, March 11.
It has a number of safety measures in place, including sanitisation stations on entry, Perspex screens at its tills and social distancing reminders in store, as well as a traffic light system to control the number of people going in and out of the store.
Aldi store manager Paul Lawrenuik said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves. We’re committed to making sure that the shopping experience each customer enjoys in our stores is on a par with the products and services they’re used to.
“Customers will notice a few small changes throughout the store to align with social distancing guidelines, ensuring we keep our community safe, and we thank you for the co-operation in ensuring the safety of both our colleagues and customers”.
