TWO homes owned by Bradford Council have sold at auction, with one almost doubling its guide price.
A number of Council owned properties went under the hammer at a Pugh property auction this week.
One property - 1 Foster Park in Denholme, had a guide price of £85,000. But the three bedroom detached house ended up selling for £168,000.
Another, 32 Carleton Street in Keighley, had a guide price of £45,000. The Two bedroom terraced house sold for £51,000.
But property listed by the Council, 177 Amberley Street in Barkerend, failed to meet its £55,000 guide price.
Another, 6 Albert Avenue Saltaire, was withdrawn before the auction began.

As part of the Council's empty homes policy, the authority often takes ownership of long empty properties in order to bring them back onto the housing market.
Homes are obtained by measures such as compulsory purchase orders or by agreement with the owners.
Sometimes the Council disposes of properties by passing them onto charities or registered social landlords.
On other occasions the homes are sold at auction.
