A SUSPECT was pretending to be a tree when they were found by a police dog, after a building site burglary.
The burglary was ongoing at a construction site in the Hipperholme area, in the early hours of yesterday morning, when Police Dog Macy was deployed.
She managed to track through the site and picked up the scent of a suspect in the large grounds of a nearby house.
PD Macy discovered the suspect in some of the garden's foliage, as they were "making poor attempts to be a tree".
One person was arrested and is in custody on suspicion of burglary.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Ongoing burglary at building site.
"PD Macy deployed who quickly tracks through the site, into large grounds of nearby house where she locates suspect making poor attempts to be a tree in the garden.
"One in custody for burglary."
