A DRIVER stopped in lane three of a motorway after being asked to pull over by police.
PC Martin Willis - who is better known as Motorway Martin on Twitter - shared the tale online.
He said: "I thought my number was up last night."
The officer attempted to pull over a Volkswagen on a motorway on Monday evening.
This normally means the driver making their way over towards the hard shoulder, before stopping safely for police.
But this driver decided they would come to a halt right in lane three.
PC Willis reminded motorists of what they need to do if they see flashing lights behind them.
He said: "If an emergency vehicle with blue lights is behind you, move to the left and they will either pass you or follow you onto the hard shoulder."
