MOVING tributes have been paid to an "intelligent, kind hearted and funny" Ilkley man who died in the tragic crash at Addingham last Thursday.
The horror crash on the A65 involving a livestock lorry and two other vehicles at 8.10am last Thursday prompted a huge response by emergency vehicles.
It claimed the lives of 21-year-old Ilkley man Oliver Knott, a former footballer at Thackley Juniors, and Dr Maisie Ryan, from Leeds.
A tribute on the Facebook page of Thackley Juniors football club said: "It is with great sadness that the club has learned of the tragic death of one of our former players, 21-year-old Oliver Knott.
"Oliver joined Thackley Juniors at under sevens, and played through to under-18 level before leaving for university in Liverpool.
"Oliver was instrumental in the Storm team's only league win in 2014, and will be remembered as an intelligent, kind hearted, funny character, that will be truly missed by everyone that knew and played with him.
"Our heartfelt sympathy go to Oliver's family and friends."
Thackley Juniors club chairman Mark Buttle said: "He was a local lad who came in as a junior and played at the club for many years.
"We want to let everyone know we're thinking about him. Flowers (and messages) have been left down at Thackley AFC."
One of those messages came from Oliver's family, who wrote: "Thank you to Thackley Juniors and everyone who has paid their respects to our wonderful son Oliver.
"We can't put into words how much it hurts, but seeing your messages and flowers really does help.
"There were always be a part of Thackley Storm that is Oliver."
The club statement added: "Whilst he was a competent centre back in his early days, Oliver’s talents as a goalkeeper quickly became apparent, winning various accolades through out his time with both Thackley Storm and Lightning teams, including the Players Player and Coaches Player of the Year on numerous occasions.
Flowers paying tribute to Oliver and Maisie have been places at the Addingham crash site on the A65.

Flowers also paying tribute to both Oliver and Maisie have appeared at the accident site on the A65.
A Just Giving page set up in memory of Maisie, originally from Derby, has already raised more than £10,000.
She is understood to have worked at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, Leeds Teaching Hospitals and most recently, Airedale Hospital.
It says: "We’ve set up this page for our beautiful, kind, caring and sensitive friend Maisie who was tragically killed in a road traffic accident on February 18th 2021.
"Maisie spent her life caring for others and worked so hard to become the brilliant doctor she was, a job that she loved.
"Anthony Nolan was a charity close to Maisie’s heart, and one which she worked with throughout her medical training and beyond.
"We would like to use this page as a means of continuing the wonderful work Maisie was a part of, and as a way of sharing happy memories and celebrating all that Maisie was. She was a friend to all that knew her, and this is a loss to this world that will be felt by many."
