POLICE discovered what they believe to be class A drugs and a "home-made" drugs pipe.
The Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team said officers were conducting patrols on Saturday when they spotted a vehicle in the Heckmondwike area, which they believed was in the middle of a drug deal.
A police spokesperson said: "The vehicle had also made off from officers in the Birstall area earlier in the day.
"As officers followed the vehicle it decided to stop, closely followed by the passenger making off on foot. Both driver and passenger were detained and searched along with the vehicle.
"A quantity of what is believed to be individually wrapped class A drugs and a home made drugs pipe were located near by.
"If you have information regarding illegal or nuisance vehicles or vehicles that are linked to crime then you can contact our team directly at Optireminster@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk."
