Charles Darwin lends his name to a new brasserie opening in the new year.
The Origin of Species author is known to have stayed in Ilkley in 1859 and his name will be a permanent fixture in the town when Darwin's opens in February.
It replaces The Grove restaurant and is part of the Suburban Style Bar chain.
While he was in Ilkley, Darwin underwent water treatment at Wells House and stayed with family at North View House, now Hillside Court.
Elsewhere the bar chain has rebranded its Suburban Style Bar in Otley, renaming in Drinker's Delight.
