Ambitious plans have been unveiled to redevelop a service which helps gay and bisexual people in Bradford - thanks to a grant of thousands of pounds from the Department of Health.
Tom Doyle, director of Yorkshire MESMAC, said with the support of Bradford Social Services it had secured £150,000 from the Department of Health to improve the building and access.
MESMAC provides a base for a number of services and support groups including the Bradford Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Youth Project, the Our Project and the Blast Project.
It is also applying for planning permission, which would provide a space for a computer suite, a meeting area and food preparation area.
"The money really is a boost in the arm for our Bradford services and will go a long way to realising our vision of delivering a first class community resource to our services users in the area," said Mr Doyle.
