A CONSULTATION on plans to install traffic calming measures on a number of busy Bradford streets - part of efforts to create a 20mph zone, has begun.
A 20mph limit is being introduced to a number of streets including Great Horton Road, Shearbridge Road and Woodhead Road in an attempt to reduce accidents and anti-social driving.
And Bradford Council also plans to install a number of measures such as speed plateaus and traffic humps on these streets to help reduce speeds and anti social driving.
There will be two speed plateaus on Great Horton Road - either side of the junction with Summerville Road.
Another would be installed on Shearbridge Road, near the mini roundabout.
20mph zone and traffic calming for Barkerend Road
There would be a series of speed bumps on Shearbridge Road, and speed "thumps" on Summerville Road.
The 20mph zone will include the streets between Horton Grange Road, Great Horton Road, Legrams Lane and Shearbridge Road.
This area includes streets notorious for anti social driving.
Bradford Council has introduced 20mph zones on a number of city centre streets, and on roads around schools and colleges.
