THE inquest into the death of Santokh ‘Charlie’ Singh opened yesterday.
The hearing, at Bradford Coroners’ Court, heard the 59-year-old was found dead at his home on Airedale Road, Undercliffe. Bradford, (pictured above) on November 30 last year.
The provisional cause of death was a head injury, but the full forensic post-mortem examination results are awaited.
Police requested a suspension of the inquest as a suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with Mr Singh’s death.
His son, Phillip Badwal, 24, of Airedale Road, was charged with murder and will next appear before Bradford Crown Court on March 19 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Assistant Coroner Raja Mahmood requested a further update from police within the next three months.
A provisional date for the final inquest hearing was set for February 2, 2022.
