A GRANDAD is looking forward to seeing his 12-week-old granddaughter for the first time after having his Covid-19 vaccination at the new Jacob's Well site in the city centre.
It opened its doors today, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson hailing it as "great news" on a visit to nearby Batley.

David Ingham, 77, from Keighley, was the first person to receive a vaccination at the Jacob's Well centre.
After his jab David said: "I've got Parkinson's so I was keen to have it done. I've been staying in for about 12 months."
David's son Robert, who booked his appointment and brought him for his vaccination said: "He’s really looking forward to seeing his 12-week old granddaughter for the first time."
Gurmej Kaur, from Clayton, also had her vaccination at Jacob's Well and said: "I'm feeling better now I've had my jab".
Her daughter Kash Kaur, who cares for her 78 year-old mum, said: "I feel it’s a must to protect my mum as there have been so many lives lost. I'm looking forward to her having her second dose."
Valerie and Colin Patefield, 72 and 74, from Wyke, attended Jacob's Well for their vaccinations today - Colin's birthday.
He said: "It's the best birthday present I could have had, other than being able to go on holiday. I'm an optimist but I'm relieved it's done - everything was really well organised and looks to be going well."
Madhuben Mistry, 75, from Clayton, said: "My husband is very unwell so I wanted to get the jab as I look after him. I felt safe having it and I have more peace of mind now."
The Prime Minister visited the Al-Hikmah centre in Batley earlier today and when asked about vaccine supplies to Bradford and West Yorkshire beyond February 15, the target date for the first four priority groups to have received their first dose, he said: "First of all, I want to thank all the teams involved in rolling out the vaccines in Bradford and West Yorkshire."
He said it had been a "stunning performance" by those involved and added: "I want people to be reassured about supply. We're very confident in the supplies that we have and the contracts that we have and we'll continue to be ramping up production in the UK in the weeks and months ahead."
He said production had been "a bit bumpy" but said it was hoped things would start to become smoother.
Mr Johnson added: "I want to give every reassurance that we're very confident in the supplies and the rollout that we have and I'm very confident now in the amazing distribution network we have."
