PLANS to open a new church in a city centre building have been approved by Bradford Council.
Late last year The Church of the Pentecost UK applied for planning permission to change the use of the second floor of a dance studio based at 108 Sunbridge Road to a place of worship.
The application said most services would be held on weekends.
The section of the 19th century building has been on the market since September 2019.
The application has this week been approved by Bradford Council.
'Big dreams' for new Fountains Church in Bradford city centre
The building is on a prominent spot on the corner of Sunbridge Road and Barry Street in Bradford city centre, with housing association offices on the ground floor.
Planning officers said it would be unlikely that the change of use would cause any harm to the period building - but said any external signage or advertising for the church would require a separate application.
Late last year another new city centre church opened in Bradford.
Fountains Church is based in the former Walkabout complex of bars and Nightclubs in Gyldegate Square.
