A BRADFORD tailor is offering residents the chance to show off their own clothes making skills in a new competition.
Imran Khan, of IK Collections based in Westgate, has launched the competition for budding clothes designers who may have been honing their skills during lockdown.
The winner will receive an outfit made by Mr Khan’s company worth up to £2,000.
Mr Khan will be joined on the judging panel by Ray Lister and Sophie Brush.
Mr Lister has been in the tailoring business for more than 60 years. He sold his business 15 years ago, but came out of retirement two years ago to continue to work in the industry in Bradford.
Mr Khan said: “I get a lot of messages from younger people who are looking to get into tailoring.
“It can be a picture of anything they have made; a skirt, trousers or handkerchief.
“Sewing and making things is great for your mental health. It keeps you busy and at the same time, you have something made in your hands at the end of it."
Entrants are urged to get in touch with IK Collections on Instagram and post photographs of their best creations on the company’s post about the competition on this page. The deadline for entries is March 1.
Earlier this month, Mr Khan helped kit out the Prime Minister for a second time after sending him cufflinks, a tie and braces.
The idea came from one of his employees, Jean Holt, who said she wanted to send a gift to Mr Johnson.
They decided to send the cufflinks and received a reply on behalf of Mr Johnson on Downing Street-headed paper.
