LATEST NEWS: Police confirm death on tracks after railway disruptions
THE rail line between Bradford Interchange and Halifax is blocked tonight.
Emergency services are dealing with an incident and disruption is expected to last for some time.
The Real Time Trains website stated that services on the route had been cancelled "due to a person hit by a train."
The incident happened at around 8.30pm.
The Calder Valley line connects Bradford and Halifax via Low Moor.
One resident told the T&A that an air ambulance had landed in the Cleckheaton Road area of Low Moor, close to the rail station, at around 8.45pm.
The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told the T&A: "Air ambulance lands behind Black Horse Hotel/Pub. Believe someone has been hit by train. Air ambulance about 20:45hrs."
A tweet from Northern, which operates diesel services along the route, said: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Bradford Interchange and Halifax all lines are blocked.
"Road transport has been requested to operate between Leeds and Hebden Bridge and will be advertised once recruited."
