THE charity arm of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has announced its first corporate sponsorship.

Better Lives has been chosen as the lead charity for contracting and manufacturing company P.E.C.

Over the next two years, P.E.C. and sister company Wulf Protective Ltd, will dedicate themselves to fundraising for the local NHS charity, which exists to enhance care beyond the NHS core offer, supporting people who use the Trust’s mental health, community and learning disabilities services, as well as their families, carers, and staff.

Several plans are already in the pipeline for P.E.C. to support Better Lives, including various virtual and physical fundraising events, supporting the charity’s fundraising appeals, staff volunteering, and eventually hosting a charity ball with Better Lives as the sole beneficiary.

The charity is keen to support the construction company in developing a mental health workforce agenda for the P.E.C. staff, many of whom are based in Bradford.

Charity lead Catherine Jowitt said: “We are really looking forward to what we hope will be a productive and successful partnership with P.E.C. and Wulf Protective Ltd.

"This is the first time Better Lives has received corporate sponsorship and it seems only fitting that it is a local company, employing local people, with a real interest in mental health at the heart of it. We can’t wait for what the next two years will bring.”

Sohan Panesar, Managing Director at P.E.C. and Wulf Protective Ltd, added: “We are excited to have had the opportunity to become the charity’s first corporate sponsor since their rebranding in May 2020.

"Over the last 12 months, we have been focused on implementing various wellbeing programmes into our business that are centred around mental health. As such, we are looking forward to seeing what advances our new relationship with the charity will bring, as we collaborate and become a hands-on sponsor, not just a cheque provider.”
