BOSSES at The Broadway say they are talking to potential new tenants after its Debenhams store is set to close for good.
Debenhams, which has a large branch at The Broadway, will shut all of its 118 stores nationwide after being bought out by online retailer Boohoo in a £55 million deal.
The high street chain was one of the original stores at the Bradford shopping centre when it opened in November 2015.
It has been a mainstay on UK high streets for 242 years, but is now set to shut its doors for good.
Ian Ward, general manager at The Broadway, Bradford, said: “Debenhams stores across the country will be closing including the unit held in The Broadway shopping centre.
“We’re continuing to hold conversations with multiple exciting retailers and leisure providers who are keen to bring its offering to the city of Bradford.
“As always, we’ll announce these names when leases are signed.”
