Delivery drivers have been warned to be on their guard after a fast food courier had his car stolen when he was lured to a bogus call.
The driver was asked to deliver a Chinese takeaway meal to a house in Walden Drive, Chellow Grange, Bradford, but when he arrived at the address the householder had no knowledge of the order.
As he stood on the doorstep, a man appeared from a back garden, pushed him out of the way and jumped in his car, which he had left running, and drove off.
The blue Astra, registered CX510HG, has not been traced.
Detective Inspector Noel Devine, of Bradford North CID, said: "Delivery drivers need to be aware of this and guard against it happening.
"They should switch off their engines and take their keys with them when they are making a delivery."
The incident happened at 8.30pm yesterday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Bradford North CID on (01274) 376259.
