AN underground fire in Brighouse on Sunday blew a manhole cover off.
The West Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire in the open which occured at 10:55am on Sunday on Mill Royd Street.
When crews arrived this was identified as a fire underground that had blown a manhole cover off.
Three appliances from Rastrick, Huddersfield and Halifax attended the incident and crews used one large jet to put out the fire.
Northern Power Grid attended to isolate the electric supply.
