PLANS for a flood easing scheme at Apperley Bridge have been submitted to Bradford Council.
The proposal, for land adjacent to the River Aire between Calverley Bridge and Apperley Bridge, includes flood defences.
Step Two of the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme Phase 2 would include a Flood Storage Reservoir, with plant and machinery, and flood defences to include walls, sheet piling, earth bunds, scour protection and associated access, landscaping, demolition, building and construction works.
The granting of planning permission does not affect owners’ rights to retain or dispose of their property, unless there is some provision to the contrary in an agreement or in a lease.
To make representations about the application, by Leeds City Council, write to Planning Services, Britannia House, Hall Ings, Bradford BD1 1HX by February 1.
Other public notices from Bradford Council this week include temporary road closures at:
* Holme Wood Road, Bradford. While water works are carried out, the closure will in place from its junction with Cutler Heights Lane to a point outside CSM Bakery Solutions.
Alternative routes for traffic via Cutler Heights Lane, Sticker Lane, Tong Street, Knowles Lane, Broadstone Way, Holme Wood Road (unaffected section) and vice versa. The order is from January 26,7pm-9.30pm.
* Heaton Road, Bradford. While electrical works are executed. Heaton Road is to be closed from its junction with Heaton Park Drive to its junction with Parkside Drive. Alternative routes for traffic will be available via Heaton Road (unaffected section), Lilycroft Road, Toller Lane and vice versa. The order remains in force until 6pm on January 31.
* Pellon Terrace, Idle. While telecoms works take place, restrictions will be from a point outside No 1 Pellon Terrace to a point outside No 44 Pellon Terrace. Alternative routes for traffic will be available via Pellon Terrace (unaffected section), Harper Avenue, Town Lane, Kingston Road and vice versa.
The order is from 8am-6pm on January 26 and 27.
* Public footpaths at Kings Road, Bradford. While electrical works are carried out, a traffic order will restrict access on the length of public footpath numbers 5, 6 and 24 (Bradford North) from its junction with Kings Road to its junction with the service road to the Citroen Garage. No alternative routes for pedestrians affected by the order will be available. The order remains in force until 6pm on February 12.
* Rose Bank/Sandholme Drive, Burley-in-Wharfedale. While telecoms works are executed the closure will affect the length of Rose Bank/Sandholme Drive from its junction with Oak Avenue to the entrance of Burley & Woodhead C of E Primary School. Alternative routes are via Rose Bank (unaffected section), Prospect Road, St Philips Way, Langford Lane, Norwood Avenue, Main Street, Bradford Road, Sandholme Drive and vice versa. The order is from 8am-6pm on Wednesday, January 27.
* With all the above orders, pedestrian access will be maintained (apart from Kings Road footpaths) and traffic restrictions can be in place for 18 months if necessary.
