A SPECIAL tent has been set up in Bradford city centre to help a pharmacy deliver Covid-19 vaccinations.
The marquee, at the bottom of Ivegate, is behind Rimmington's Pharmacy.
It needed to provide a covered rest and recovery area for people who have had the vaccine, who must wait for 15 minutes after the jab before they can leave in case they have a reaction.
The historic pharmacy, the only one in Bradford to win a contract with NHS England to provide the vaccination, worked with the Bradford BID and the Council to put the marquee in place.
Qaisar Sheikh, who runs the pharmacy with his business partner Sajid Hussain, said: “Without this we would have struggled to accommodate enough people, but this means we can really ramp up the numbers and vaccinate as many people as possible.”
The pharmacy will begin vaccinating people from today. There are five fully-trained vaccinators and the pharmacy will be part of the NHS booking system, so people can choose Rimmington’s to give them their jab when they receive their vaccination offer letter.
