A MOTORBIKE rider "headbutted a tree" as he ran away from police.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Leeds District Off-Road Bike Team were out patrolling in Calverley this afternoon.
The team often visits Calverley Woods, due to reports of illegal riders.
While there today, officers spotted a "lad" on a red motorbike.
The police team said on Facebook: "Bambi was better on his feet than this lad."
Officers chased the rider, but he "rapidly ran out of talent" and dropped the bike.
He then headbutted a tree as he made off into the woods.
Police seized the bike.
The police team said: "This afternoon our Leeds District Off-Road Bike Team were in Calverley.
"They make regular patrols of the woods due to reports of illegal riders.
"Today was a success as the rider of this red and white bike rapidly ran out of talent and dropped it.
"Bambi was better on his feet than this lad, who also headbutted a tree running off into the woods.
"The bike was promptly seized."
