A NEW church could soon open in a building in Bradford city centre.
The Church of the Pentecost UK has applied for planning permission to change the use of the second floor of 108 Sunbridge Road from a dance studio to a place of worship.
The space within the large building, at the junction with Barry Street, has been vacant and on the market since September 2019.
The church’s application says most services in the building will be held on weekends, and adds: “Although it is the expectation of the church to welcome visitors and new converts, the current membership of the church is on average 38, including 12 adults, 15 children and 11 teenagers.”
How the new Fountains Church in Bradford city centre church became a 'place of hope'
A decision on the application is expected to be made by Bradford Council next month.
Earlier this month another new city centre church opened in Bradford.
Fountains Church is based in the former Walkabout complex of bars and Nightclubs in Gyldegate Square.
