OUT shopping during the Christmas period, I felt extremely uncomfortable in streets I had not expected to be so busy. Even at the early time of day I visited it was sufficiently crowded that I thought it necessary to keep my face mask on all the time, not only when I went into shops. It is often hard to socially distance in packed streets.
With Covid cases rising, maybe it is time to impose rules that see mask wearing in town and city centres. It could be imposed around certain high footfall areas without too much inconvenience to the public and would certainly help to stop the spread of the virus.
Putting a mask on to go into a shop is now second-nature and I am sure this would become so as well. I don’t understand why it hasn’t been imposed.
