A BRADFORD councillor is aiming to raise £600 by Christmas Day and run the equivalent in miles in aid of a city foodbank.
Cllr Richard Dunbar (Lab, Thornton and Allerton) is looking to raise funds for Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank between now and this Friday.
Writing on his online donation page, he said: “Bradford Metropolitan Foodbank do an amazing job collecting and distributing emergency food parcels (via referrals) to those most in need across the Bradford district. It is run entirely by a group of inspiring volunteers.

💷Between now and Christmas Day I aiming to raise £600
🏃♂️For every £ raised I will run the equivalent in miles
Last week they gave out 600 food parcels -that’s 2400 for the month!

“Demand is especially high at the moment with an average of 600 parcels being distributed every week.
“When the Foodbank first opened they gave out 600 bags in one year.
“In order to raise much needed money for the foodbank, I am pledging that for every pound I raise between now and Christmas Day I will run the equivalent in miles in the first part of 2021.”
